Business Development Officer - Special Projects and Expansion
Description
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Special Projects Management
- Lead and execute strategic special projects assigned by management.
- Develop project proposals, timelines, budgets, and success metrics.
- Coordinate with operations, procurement, sales, and logistics teams.
- Monitor project performance and provide progress reports to management.
- Ensure projects align with KLT Fruits’ long-term strategic goals.
2. Product Development & Expansion
• Identify new fruit products or value-added products (e.g., processed fruits, packaged fruit
cups, frozen fruits).
• Conduct feasibility studies for new product launches.
• Coordinate product testing, sourcing, packaging, pricing, and positioning.
• Analyze product performance and recommend improvements.
• Explore private labeling and OEM opportunities.
3. Operations Assessment & Improvement
- Conduct operational audits to identify inefficiencies in:
- Procurement
- Inventory management
- Cold chain systems
- Distribution routes
- Recommend process improvements to reduce cost and waste.
- Implement KPI systems to measure operational performance.
- Support digital transformation or system upgrades.
4. Business Expansion
- Identify opportunities for:
- New branch locations
- Warehouse expansion
- Distribution channel expansion
- Conduct location analysis and cost-benefit studies.
- Develop business expansion proposals for executive approval.
- Manage rollout plans for new facilities or operations.
5. Market Expansion & Partnerships
- Research new customer segments (retail, hotels, supermarkets, exporters).
- Identify new geographic markets (local and international).
- Establish strategic partnerships with suppliers and institutional buyers.
- Represent KLT Fruits in trade fairs, industry events, and negotiations.
- Develop entry strategies for new markets.
6. Financial & Strategic Planning
- Prepare business cases with revenue projections and cost analysis.
- Analyze profitability by product line and customer segment.
- Monitor return on investment (ROI) for expansion initiatives.
- Support annual strategic planning exercises.
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare monthly reports on:
- Special projects status
- Product performance
- Expansion initiatives
- Maintain documentation of feasibility studies and project plans.
- Present strategic recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be a PERMANENT RESIDENT in the Philippines.
- Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Business Administration
- Marketing
- Agribusiness
- Food Technology
- Operations Management
- Industrial Engineering
- MBA or relevant master’s degree is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Professional Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in:
- Business development
- FMCG or food industry operations
- Agribusiness or fruit distribution (preferred)
- Project management
- Product development or commercialization
- Experience handling cross-functional projects is required.
- 3–7 years of experience in:
- Technical Skills
- Market research and feasibility study preparation
- Financial analysis and business case development
- Operations assessment and process improvement
- Supply chain understanding (procurement, warehousing, distribution)
- Product lifecycle management
- Budget planning and ROI analysis
- Proficiency in MS Office / Google Workspace
- Data analysis skills (Excel, dashboards, KPI monitoring)
