Description

Product Testing and Certification

  • Research with 3 rd Party laboratories on required Test Plan - product
    safety, regulatory, performance and local country (for example:
    importation and/or certification) requirements.

    • Analyze and conclude the required Test Plan for the ASL
      internal teams and Client’s Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA)
      to approve.
    • Must be able to rationalize the concluded Test Plan from a
      product compliance and cost optimization standpoint.
  • Review 3rd Party issued and/or manufacturers’ provided Lab Test
    reports to verify if the tested items cover what are needed in the
    concluded Test Plan in terms of applicable Test Standard(s) and
    against the same Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Conduct Label Review with technical comment on the correctness
    of the listed contents (for example: symbols, instructions and
    applicable languages).
  • Manage Pre-Purchase/Production and Production/Intervention
    testing activities are in accordance with concluded Test Plan to
    ensure result is available per project timeline and is clearly
    communicated to ASL internal teams. Should there be a test failure,
    he/she must be able to provide guidance/direction in terms of
    possible areas of correction/improvement.
  • Develop Product Inspection Checklists/Protocols to ensure mass
    production conformance is properly executed and appropriately
    checked by ASL QC and/or ASL-appointed 3 rd Party inspection
    service providers.
  • Review inspection report and follow up analysis/investigate made
    by vendors/manufacturers through merchandising.
  • Monitor and support development of manufacturing quality control
    testing. It is important to plan and schedule factory visits to have a
    required understanding of the respective manufacturing processes
    and control gates at “benchmarked” facilities of specific product
    categories in addition to acquiring knowledge through research
    reading.
  • Keep updated to Global Product Recall incidents (from market-
    available databases) so that Test Plan and Inspection Checklist/Protocol can be appropriately developed to incorporate
    testing items and/or inspection checkpoints to avoid recurrence of
    reported incidents.

    Technical Support on Chain of Custody (CoC)/Declaration of Conformity
    (DoC) to Suppliers/Factories and Merchandising

     Provide technical support to all product categories across different
    product-specific Merchandising teams in terms of product safety,
    regulatory, performance and local country (for example:
    importation and/or certification) requirements across different
    markets around the world. Also, the support extends to CoC and
    DoC management up to the raw materials level as per mandated by
    global brands such as Mars.

    Product Specification Generation and Review

     Review different brands’ Vendor Manuals/Guides to understand
    customers’ product testing, inspection criteria & requirements and
    appointed 3 rd Party labs to be used.
     Generate Product Specification to include concluded Test Plan and
    Product Inspection Checklist/Protocol and support in reviewing if
    basic (and necessary) fields within Bill of Materials (BOM) supplied
    by manufacturer is missing/lacking in contents.
    First Article Review and Factory Meeting
     Participate in Pre-Production Meetings with Merchandising and QC
    (either on site and/or via remote channel) on high attention/high
    risk projects to assist vendors/manufacturers in better
    understanding the concluded Test Plan (for example: Testing
    Requirements & Testing Protocols) and Product Inspection
    Checklist/Protocol (for example: Inspection Requirements &
    Standards).

    Failure Analytical Support

     Conduct preliminary Failure Analysis on field reported situations
    (that is in collaboration with ASL Sales/Merchandising) and
    document in CAP such that follow-up analysis/investigation can be
    made and tracked by vendors/manufacturers in one document.
     Keep track of all field reported situations in the ASL Customer
    Reported Situation Tracking Log.
    Reporting and Documentation
     Prepare documentations - Technical Specifications, Work
    Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
     Provide customer requested information as per defined timelines.
     Quality standards, documentations and engineering reports are
    managed appropriately out of the SharePoint/Cloud.
     Compile QC Files on/before the scheduled inspection dates to
    support the ASL QC and/or 3 rd Party QC operations through
    effective modes of communication such as Teams/WeChat/Phone
    calls to complete with emailing system.
    Projects
     Support clients’ visits and audits as and when necessary with
    allocated clients’ accounts.
     Support clients’ questionnaires and documentation requests during
    project/program tendering process and clients’ stated projects.

Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of working experiences at 3 rd Party Labs in a
    Customer Support/Service capacity and 1-2 years in sourcing offices for Hardgoods and Softlines.
  • Should have practical experience in managing projects into
    countries such as China, Taiwan, Japan, Argentina, Russia and Ivory
    Coast where local importation/certification is needed per product
    categories.
  • Knowledgeable in areas of product safety, regulatory and
    performance requirements as per international and market-specific
    standards.
  • Complete work based on scheduled timelines and with the required
    quality level - correctness, detailed and accurate.
  • Apply Quality tools and methodologies at work/in the work that is
    being done whenever possible and necessary.
  • Work must be performed in accordance with defined guidelines &
    operating systems and supported by appropriate formal documentations.
  • Strict adherence to Company & Departmental operational and administrative guidelines.
  • Maintain effective and efficient communication with all parties.
  • Well-organized and able to handle multi-tasks at the same time
