R&D Manager (Food and Beverage Manufacturing)
Description
- To lead the planning, development, and execution of innovative products and process improvements that align with market trends and business goals. Ensures all R&D activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, contributing to company growth, competitiveness, and operational excellence.
- Lead the end-to-end product development process including concept generation, formulation, testing, and commercialization
- Manage product improvements and reformulations based on market feedback and business needs
- Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and labeling requirements
- Conduct and supervise pilot testing, shelf-life studies, and sensory evaluation
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, procurement, QA, and production to align R&D outputs with business objectives
- Maintain documentation of formulations, processes, and validation studies
- Monitor emerging trends, ingredients, and technologies relevant to product innovation
- Develop project timelines and ensure timely delivery of R&D projects
- Oversee technical support and troubleshooting for product or process-related concerns
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders
- Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time that support the organization’s Mission, Vision, Objectives, Strategies and Core Values, customer satisfaction and market response to new products
Qualifications
- Applicants must be a PERMANENT RESIDENT in the Philippines
- Graduate of Food Science & Technology or Chemical Engineering courses
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Food Science, Product Development, or related disciplines
- Over 5 years with managerial experience in an R&D role
- Food Safety Training / PRC license/registered
- 5 years of experience in R&D or product development in the food industry
- R&D principles, food chemistry, nutrition, and process technology
- Food Safety, HACCP, GMP,FMEA and regulatory compliance
- Sensory Evaluation and statistical analysis methods
- Familiar with food innovation trends and raw material sourcing
- Project management and cross-functional leadership
- Technical writing and documentation
- Analytical and research capabilities
- Presentation and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, R&D or formulation software
- Continuous Improvement
