Description

Responsible for the execution of purchasing strategies and the timing, quality, and cost of deliveries based on MRP. The Senior Buyer shall ensure that immediate customer needs are fulfilled. This position requires heavy data analysis while reviewing the state of current inventory, sales demand, and past due orders.

This position is also responsible for tracking supplier performance in on-time delivery and quality. This position is accountable for the on-time delivery of required product at a rate which achieves company Inventory.
Turn metrics and minimizes past due orders.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (the following in only a summary of the typical functions of the job, not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible responsibilities, tasks, and duties).

  • Execute purchasing strategies and timing of deliveries to optimize availability while minimizing inventory.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure immediate customer demands are met through regular S and OP meetings.
  • Ensure the accuracy of data and purchase orders to company standards, contracts, and MOU terms.
  • Set and maintain stocking strategies within the ERP system to ensure accurate MRP output.
  • Communication with supplier to expedite/delay product as required.
  • Assess and manage supplier delivery metrics.
  • Monitor inventory levels and availability to achieve company
  • Inventory Turn and Availability metrics.
  • Optimize, plan, and track incoming shipments.
  • Ensure correct delivery dates and shipment information is loaded into ERP systems.
  • Manage transportation methods and determine most cost-effective methods, which will ensure proper delivery time.
Qualifications
  • Applicants must be a PERMANENT RESIDENT in the Philippines
  • 4 years equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years of purchasing in automotive industry.
  • 3 years of casting/foundry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
  • Specific knowledge of purchasing techniques and an understanding of the make/buy process and cost structure.
  • Strong MRP knowledge.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Must be able to perform cost and price analysis.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Long periods of time sitting at a desk (daily).
  • Able to efficiently utilize computer equipment. Manual dexterity to type on computer keyboard and operate general office equipment, such as phone, fax, and copier.
  • Ability to move throughout the facilities to interact with employees in their work environment
  • Noise level is usually low.
