Description
- The Database Administrator works under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.
- The Database Administrator will be responsible for designing, testing, planning, implementing, protecting, operating, managing, and maintaining organizations databases.
- Must ensure the reliability, integrity, and security of the organizations data infrastructure.
- Implement, configure, and troubleshoot database instances, replication, backup, partitions, storage, and access.
- Manage and administer user privileges within the database environment.
- Monitor and optimize system performance using index tuning, disk optimization, and other methods.
- Implement database best practices to team members and help advance their technical Skillsets.
- Manage database reports & ETL processes.
- Automate repetitive database tasks.
- Recommend system changes to mitigate risks, prevent reoccurrence of incidents, improve performances.
- Documents major incident reports or service and change request specifications.
- Creates database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata).
Qualifications
- Applicants must be a PERMANENT RESIDENT in the Philippines
- 5+ years Database Administration work experience (MySQL, MariaDB experience strongly preferred).
- 5+ years creating, maintaining, and supporting Database in a high transactional Environment.
- Proficient in SQL Language and SQL Tuning.
- Experience in database performance tuning, optimization, backup, and recovery.
- Experience with replication configuration in MySQL, MariaDB.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to produce across your team and beyond.
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements.
knowledgeable with the standards and best practices in database administration. - Must possess at least a bachelor's Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent.
