Finance and Accounting Manager
Description
- Oversee all functions and processes performed by the Finance and Accounting Department.
- Manage and sustain outsourced accounting functions.
- Update a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
- Delegates tasks, empowers, and motivates supervisory staff in handling their roles and functions.
- Examines and build up current internal control systems for the company’s assets.
- Approves expenses within the chart of authority in Basware.
- Acts as signatory for all check disbursements under OMPI and OPI.
- Acts as Treasurer of the board for OPI and OMPI including BIR and SEC.
- Constructs and monitors of reliable control systems.
- Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
- Maintain banking relationships.
- Integrates financial data and aids in the development of the annual budget, reports, and forecasts.
- Examine service level agreement and billings with head office.
- Report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances.
- Establishes financial and tax strategies.
- Ensures that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Reviews company bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company.
- Creates analysis and reports as requested by management.
- Performs other relevant tasks as may be assigned by superior.
Areas of responsibilities:
- The position supports the Vice President- Maritime Personnel Section on the following:
- Management of the Finance & Accounting operations
- Compliance with regulatory bodies - Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
- Compliance with Head Office financial report and budget requirements
- Management of the overall budget of OiP and Crew accounts
- KPI monitoring for Finance and Accounting
Qualifications
- Applicants must be a PERMANENT RESIDENT in the Philippines.
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, with CPA license.
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Finance and Accounting, with at least 5 years managerial level experience.
- Expertise in accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Experience in the offshoring accounting process is an advantage.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft tools including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio.
- Effective communicator (spoken and written) at all levels.
- Works well under pressure, takes ownership of work, and ensures exceptional follow-through.
- Able to multitask and work independently as well as part of a team.
