Description
- The Engineer, NOC is responsible for ensuring the client’s IT environment is stable and secure, while remediating small issues before they turn into large ones.
- The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, relentless problem solver who applies logic and an instinctive approach to resolving technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
- The Proactive Engineer ensures the availability and optimal performance of the network and performs day-to-day maintenance of network devices.
- This person should be passionate about understanding our clients’ businesses and how their internal IT affects their day-to-day operations.
- The candidate should understand the value of best practices and have the foresight to thoroughly consider all potential outcomes before making impactful changes.
- The ability to manage the stress of client-down situations is an absolute must, and it is paramount to always provide excellent customer service.
- Advanced troubleshooting of issues related to patching, backups, and other potentially disruptive incidents.
- Use diagnostic tools and discovery applications to evaluate the health and effectiveness of the client’s technology footprint and address alerts that may be indicative of a problem.
- Troubleshoot issues within the organization and client’s networks and perform routine network audits and maintenance.
- Develop and enhance standard process baselines to apply to the client’s environments to maintain optimal availability and security.
- Manage and maintain the deployment of new standards to the client’s environments and complete the requested work within defined timelines.
- Collaborate with department leadership and internal team members on addressing zero-days and other critical security vulnerabilities.
- Follow established documentation on internal processes and provide feedback to management on process improvements and areas of concern.
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
- Maintain operating efficiency and stability, ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data, and respond to outages and other alerts.
- Provide superior service to customers and clients with limited supervision consistently.
- Minimum travel requirement to client sites: 20%
Qualifications
- Applicants must be a PERMANENT RESIDENT in the Philippines
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent level of experience in related field
- A minimum of 5 years work experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator.
- Windows 10 and Windows Server 2008 and later
- Troubleshooting of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS
- Configuring and troubleshooting TCP/IP networking, including dynamic routing protocols like OSPF
- Diagnosis and troubleshooting of server hardware issues
- Experience working with Microsoft Exchange 2013 and later / Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams
- Experience with virtualization platforms in high-availability configurations, including vSphere 6.5 and Hyper-V
- Knowledge and experience with backup software configuration
- Communicate effectively with internal team members, customers, clients, and stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management.
- Confident and comfortable with client facing activity.
