DOLE Offered 11,362 Job Openings During Labor Day Job Fairs in the Philippines

SM Supermalls in Marilao, San Jose Del Monte, and Grand Central welcomed thousands of applicants and connected them with recruiters during the Labor Day job fairs last Monday, May 1.

The job fairs held in various SM branches nationwide provide convenience to job seekers looking for employers. They were launched to support the government’s aim to grant full, decent, and productive employment to all Filipino laborers.

The SM City Marilao job fair hosted over 46 employers. These companies are from various industries, including retail, food and beverage, manufacturing, healthcare, finance, hospitality, and many more. Enterprises such as Sterling, Moldex, and Manila Doctors Hospital, among others, offered a total of 2,846 job opportunities.

Meanwhile, 34 employers held their exhibits in In SM City San Jose Del Monte. A total of 3,016 job opportunities in the healthcare, retail, and construction industries were offered to applicants.

Provincial Director of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bulacan Field Office May Lynn C. Gozun cited that DOLE recognizes the challenges faced by applicants. As such, DOLE seeks to provide job aspirants with practical on-site solutions. These include free resume printing services and counseling.

The provision of different government services, such as Pag-Ibig, SSS, PhilHealth, and Postal ID, was also given to job seekers so they could quickly track possible employment.

Furthermore, SM City Grand Central in Caloocan acquired at least 3,001 jobseekers during the Labor Day festivities. The job aspirants included fresh graduates, mothers, and mid-40s applicants returning to the workforce. The job fair held at the Caloocan generated 5,500 job listings from 58 participating companies and employers. 313 applicants were also hired on the spot.

DOLE led the Labor Day Job Fair event in partnership with SM Supermalls and the Provincial and Municipal Public Employment Service Office (PESO) units in Marilao, San Jose Del Monte, and Caloocan City.
