DOLE Releases Guidelines on Availment of Cash Aid under TUPAD Program
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), under Department Order (DO) No. 219 Series of 2020, released the guidelines on the implementation of Tulong Panghanap Buhay Para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD), pursuant to Republic Act (R.A.) No. 10121. The DO was approved on October 28, 2020, and is set to provide employment and cash assistance aid to distressed workers affected by COVID-19.
COVERAGE
TUPAD Program under this DO shall cover the following:
- Workers in the informal sector, particularly self-employed with elementary occupations and unpaid family members.
- Senior Citizens below 75 years old who are fit to work and are not receiving pensions except for Social Pension for Indigent Filipino Senior Citizen.*
Senior Citizens shall be required to show a Certificate of Fitness to Work issued by a local health unit prior to their work engagement.
PRIORITIZATION
Covered workers of the TUPAD Program who were not assisted upon its application on or before April 30, 2020, under TUPAD Barangay Ko, Bahay Ko (BK-BK) Disinfection/Sanitation Project and TUPAD, shall be prioritized under this order.
